Our November Impactful Person

Hello darlings! I'm excited to introduce the very first person in our series of Impactful People who will be featured each month.

I find that hearing stories of people who are living lives they love is so wonderfully inspiring and can help each of us to have the courage and gumption to continue to work towards living our biggest dreams! So without further ado... I'd like to introduce the fabulous Ashley Elizabeth Wright!

Ashley is the founder of the Beaux Journals, a blog about travel, fashion and beauty. She is based in London, England with her wonderful husband. Check out her blog here on Instagram!

Q: Ashley, your life is fabulous. Tell us a little about who you are and what you are up to these days.

A: Omg, if I'm honest it is so not glamorous haha, but I'm so happy it comes off that way bc I wanted to create my dream world of awesomeness!!! I'm from California originally but I married a terribly wonderful british man and so now I live in London! I went to school at USC and had a very nonlinear post graduate career. But some of the core passions have remained the same: photography, fashion, travel, design.

Q: How did you arrive at the life that you are living right now?

A: I conveniently fell in love with a British man I met in Guatemala, so after 2 years of long distance (hello skymiles!) we got married and now I live in Europe, which is a dream come true. Now I think that the universe doesn't forget about some people after all...if that makes sense. I felt alone and random for so much of my life...but those kind of serendipitous events make things seem less purposeless.

Q: Tell us about your new blog - what inspired you to start doing it and what do you love most about the work that you do?

A: I love how technology and social media is giving people power instead of traditional corporations….like people dont have to wait for a company, an agent, a magazine, a tv show to hire them. They can create their own brands and worlds without waiting for green lights from others. So that has been something I have really enjoyed...instead of working for a company I really like to do their creative directing I can just do it for my own brand. I like not having to report to other people. I like being the boss.

Q: If the current "you" could give yourself advice or encouragement during some of the hardest moments a couple years ago, what message would you give yourself?

A: Smile girl!!

Q: What advice do you have for our readers who are building lives that they love?

A: Trust the universe, but work hard and go with the flow. Don’t fight so hard...try to be more like water (strong but not rigid)...definitely havent mastered that yet though....

Thank you again Ashley darling for this interview! I worked with Ashley when I was first starting my company a couple years ago, and I remember both of us talking about where we would end up in life and thinking about our big dreams. It's so fun to see how taking a few chances and making big leaps of faith have landed you in London with the love of your life! It just really does remind me that serendipity is out there for us, and it's so important to listen to those intuitive nudges and go on a trip to Guatemala or whatever it is that your heart is guiding you to do, because it just may change the rest of your life!

Onwards my friends, never give up on your big dreams!!
